Gunmen Kidnap Former Minster Of Foreign Affairs,
Unknown gunmen have abducted a former Minster of foreign affairs, Ambassador Bagudu Hirse, in Kaduna, whisked him to a as yet unknown destination.
The abductors of the former minister have not demanded any ransom as of yet.
State police Public Relations Officer, ASP Aliyu Usman, who confirmed the development, said an investigation has commenced to track down the culprits, with the police command mounting checkpoints for stop and search operations within the state.
Eyewitness account revealed that the car of the former minister stopped in front of Alhaji Mamman Daura house, along Inuwa Wada road, Malali GRA.
Its passengers were exchanging pleasantries with some people when the gunmen arrived.
“They jumped down from their car and moved towards the former minister shouting at the top of their voices ‘Get in! Get in!’
“They shot in the air severally to scare people away and then zoomed off with the minister in their vehicle.”
The witness, who could not recall the make of the car, said it was much later that witnesses realized who the gunmen had abducted.
The former minister was said to be in company of a friend, who had gone to pay a condolence visit to the family of the late Sultan of Sokoto, Ibrahim Dasuki on Kabiru road, a short distance from the site of abduction.
They had decided to make a quick stopover at the house of Daura who was at home at the time, receiving guests and other family members.
